Immigration Services
Most
visitors to the United States enter the country as tourists.
With the
introduction
of
visa waiver program (VWP) for citizens of
27 countries, it is now possible for many travelers, including
British citizens, to enter the United States without a visa.
Visa free travel
is also available to qualified travelers who enter the United
States on business or in transit.
Certain conditions must be met, for example a maximum stay
of 90 days, valid British passport for at least 90 days, traveling
for
business, pleasure or transit. You must posses a return ticket
home, and you must arrive by a sea or air carrier participating
in the
program.
If you have been denied a visa in the past you must provide
strong evidence of your intention to leave the US. That may
include documentation
of strong economic ties to your home country. Expect to be
questioned by immigration when you arrive.
You are also likely to be denied entry if you have a conviction
or even arrest, communicable disease, refused admission, been
deported,
or overstayed the VWP. If you fall into this last group you
will have to apply for a special restricted visa. We have all
seen several
famous rock stars being denied entry!
If you intend to stay for longer than 90 consecutive days as
a tourist, or would like to live here permanently, work, open
a business, or
study here in Florida, you will need a visa.
There are many different types of visas available, too many
to mention here on one page. But YourFloridaDreamHome.com works
closely with
a dedicated team of US immigration attorneys. They have several
offices here in Florida and have an affiliate office in London
for your convenience.
We strongly recommend anyone who intends to obtain a visa to
get professional help from a specialist attorney, as this can
save you
time and money in the long run. There is no point in spending
thousands of US Dollars on property or a business if you cannot
use and enjoy
it.
